The September Issue

'When I first moved to New York and I was totally broke, sometimes I would buy Vogue instead of dinner. I felt it fed me more.' - Carrie Bradshaw

When August comes around there's always three things I associated with it; school is coming up, my sister's birthday and it's the start of the September Issues. Yes, capitalization is important because it just is. The September Issue of magazines is considered the most important and anticipated issue throughout the entire year due to fall/winter lines coming out and the lingering mentality of back-to-school shopping. Every year fashion magazines like Harper's Bazaar and Elle, and of course the Bible of fashion, VOGUE, come out with September Issues filled to the brim with amazing pictorials, endless advertisement, and a beautiful starlet on it's cover. There's just something so exciting about opening up your mail and seeing that glossy magazine. I was never one to freak out over certain issues but that all changed when I saw the documentary "The September Issue" where they showed the process of making said VOGUE issue. It has commentary from the staff from the magazine, and of course Anna Wintour herself. After watching the documentary about fifty times, I knew it was the point of no return. Pretty dramatic for one magazine issue, I know, but whenever I get my September Issue I feel all Gossip-Girl-Upper-East-Side-Sex-and-The-City. If that made sense to you, let's be friends.
