July Beauty Favorites
Happy August, everyone! I always have a love-hate relationship with August. Whenever this month comes around it also means school is right around the corner. I'm excited to get back to the routine of things and having everything planned rather than just lazing around in the house but then again I'm not about that homework-everyday-wake-up-at-6 life. But before we go into this upcoming month, let's talk July!
I've been wearing a little bit more makeup since the beginning of summer. You guys know I don't really venture over to eye shadows but the L'oreal Infallible EyeShadow in Bronzed Taupe has been gracing my eyes every time I'm out of the house. It's more like a pressed pigment and the pigmentation is ah-may-zing. I put this all over my lid, and I'm not really sure how it does this but when you blend it out, like if you're putting it your crease line, it turns into a slightly darker color. Along with that eye shadow I've fallen back inlove with oldies but goodies. The Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen and Covergirl Lashblast have been favorites of mine even before my beauty obsessions. I just know that when I use them, my make up be lookin' gooood.
Am I the only one who changes their nail polish like every two days? Part of it has to do with the fact that I constantly pick at my nails so whatever polish I have on doesn't last very long. But there have been two nail polishes that managed to stay on my nails long enough for me to love them. Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a name that is whispered through every beauty grape vine. Not going to lie, I was kind of disappointed when I initially got it. I was expected an actual mint color, but this is more of a pastel light blue. I still love it but I'm still on the look out for true mint! For more vibrant nails, OPI on Collins Avenue is an orangey red very similar to the Rimmel nail polish "Orange Sunset" but more opaque.
I don't really talk about lip products on OST, and that's because I don't wear any....Yup. While other girls are collecting all the MAC lipsticks they can get their hands on, I never stray further than a tinted lip balm. But because I've been wanting to try them and YouTubers keep raving about them I got the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Buttery Nude and NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. They're not sticky at all, great pigmentation, and while I won't talk too much about that I will say that I love them so much that there will be an upcoming post all about them!
And last but not least, something I use to make sure I get all of this off of my face! This was actually my mom's but I sort of 'borrowed' it when we went on vacation and now IT'S MINE! The Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser is just all kind of awesome. Like the name suggests, it's for combination skin which is what I'm starting to have. I used to be just straight up oily, but during the last few months I've been getting random dry patches so this cleanser just takes care of everything. It's not too drying, and it doesn't leave me feeling greasy.
