VIDEO PICK: am I falling out of love with reading?
I used to read a lot when I was younger. In junior high, I used to read 3 to 5 books a week. They were middle grade books but still, 3 to 5 books a week is still a lot. Once I got to high school, I pretty much stopped reading for fun except for when I discovered the Mortal Instruments series and John Green books. Since leaving high school, I've been in and out of reading for fun and my book wishlist just continues to grow because I discovered BookTube. I've been doing a lot of reading lately, which I am very happy about, and this video from MercysBookishMusings caught my attention. There's been a bunch of response videos to this and I love the topic and opinions I've heard. I always try to read more but I'm never strict about it or feel pressured to read a certain amount of books. But I can understand why people who do "public reading" would feel pressure to read certain books just because everyone else is reading it or feel like they're "behind" on reading. I think it all comes with having an audience and wanting to be able to give their opinions on new releases so people can know whether or not the books are worth reading.
Mercedes has uploaded response video to her first video, and these are response videos from people I follow.
