Shopping The Stash
Because I'm saving up for a new camera, I've been very well restrained and haven't bought any new makeup since the middle of summer. That's more than three months, guys. Self-control? Yeah, I got that. I've been stashing my stash a little which has led me to rekindled my love for some old favorites and discover some new ones as well.
One of the rediscoveries is the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation. After using my Revlon bb cream for the entirety of summer, I needed something with a little more coverage. This foundation has a natural finish so most days I don't top it off with any powder but when I do, I've been using the elf High Definition Powder. Like everyone else, I'm not a big fan of the packaging; it's bulky and inconvenient for travel. But the powder is so finely milled that you don't look cakey even if you add on another layer later on in the day. Fall is all about darker colors and because I'm not a huge fan of lip products a tinted balm is perfect for me. The C. O. Bigelow Lemon & Blackberry Tinted Lip Balm just gives the right hint of berry color without looking too harsh and scary looking.
And now some new discoveries. Mind that I said 'new discoveries' and not 'new products'. These babies have been sitting in my makeup drawer for quite some time now and have been patiently waiting for me to use them. You guys know I use a lot of elf products and back when I was obsessed with the brand I ordered a ton of stuff and the Studio Cool Bronzer was one of them. I did try using it as a bronzer by swirling my brush over all four quadrants but the color wasn't right and I haven't used it since. I've been using the pinky-terracotta color on the bottom right as a blush and it's the most natural looking blush I've used since that's the color of my cheeks whenever I'm all flushed and whatnot.
I bought the NYC Classic Brow/Liner Pencil in Taupe because I wanted a brown eyeliner but it kind of hurt using this pencil because it wasn't very creamy. It wasn't until I couldn't find my usual brow kit that I decided to out the pencil to fill in my brows. And I like it. Like a lot. It's much easier to apply and at first I thought it would be too light but it's actually a nice color match. Now this next product is actually my mom's and I've had it in my makeup stash for months now but not until recently did I come to realize how awesome and handy this little Clinique palette it. You guys know my eye shadow looks are really basic so a sweep of the pink all over the lid, and some brown outer corner action and I'm good to go.
