APRIL BOOK HAUL
April is my birthday month and clearly, turning a year older while self-distancing has made me go a little crazy with the buying. Since the restrictions started back in March, I've been avoiding buying stuff online because one; I don't know who has come into contact with my packages so they could be all germy, and two; I didn't want to contribute to the high amount of traffic delivery services were experiencing for things that weren't necessary. So after a month of not buying anything, I treated myself. I can't go out and walk around bookstores so I perused Amazon and BookOutlet, as you do, and bought books. Lots of them.
Catching Fire, Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
I don't know why but I just had the urge to reread the series. I only owned the first book so I had to buy the rest of the trilogy and I absolutely devoured these books. I read them in like two and a half days. Not going to lie, reading them kind of put me in a reading slump afterwards (like right now) because I feel like my brain is still thinking about that world and I can't focus on other books.
The Infernal Devices trilogy, Lady Midnight - Cassandra Clare
Tell me why I had no idea these books existed until last year? I had the final two books of the Shadowhunter series on my shelves for years and I finally read them last spring. It felt kind of bittersweet finishing the series because I started it in high school and reading about that world and those set of characters brought me back to when I first read the series. I want to read these soon, and the rest of the Dark Artifices trilogy so I can read Chain of Gold. Oh, I also pre-ordered the paperback edition of "The Red Scrolls of Magic" back in January so that'll arrive on May 5th! (hehe it's arrived)
These have been from Amazon and the rest of the books are from BookOutlet, which is a site that I am on way too much. I just find myself scrolling through the YA selection all the time, even though I don't need any more books. Going through the website has become the online equivalent of me going to Half-Price books just to browse.
