HELLO, FRIEND + THINGS I'VE BEEN LOVING
Over a year has gone by since I've stopped by this little corner of the internet. I laugh at the fact that my last post was about doing a no-buy year, a concept that I abandoned about a month later.
I think a full recap of what happened all of last year would be too much. Let's keep it snappy. Spring semester, I started back at a university and it was very nice. I took two upper level English courses and just made my pipe dream of being an English major even stronger. It also rekindled my love for reading and I read a lot last year. Started working at a daycare in May and I loved working there. I miss my babies. My family and I went home to the Philippines for three weeks during December and it was both tiring and relaxing.
Do I even need to talk about what's happening in the world right now? I don't think I need to, it seems to be the only thing the news talks about. If you're in a country that's been affected and is currently on some kind of lock-down, I hope you're doing okay. I hope you're in a safe environment and you're healthy. These "unprecedented times" (the news loves saying that) have made me even more thankful that I live at home. Having my family around is definitely a privilege I know many people don't have.
We're reaching the fifth? sixth? week of social distancing now and to be quite honest, days are blurring together now. I thought I would get a lot of reading done during this time but I've managed to buy more books than I have read (expect a haul soon whoops).
