The Carrie Diaries

As a fashion lover and fan of CW shows, when I found out a couple of months ago that they were making a show for "The Carrie Diaries" I flipped out. I haven't read the books yet, and I wouldn't call myself a "Sex and The City" fan but I knew that this show was one I would enjoy. And just from the first episode, I can already tell this will be one of my favorites. "The Carrie Diaries" is a prequel to "Sex and The City" and follows Carrie through her senior year of high school. Her father sets her up with an internship at a lawfirm in Manhattan, and that's where Carrie meets, what I like to call, "artsy people"; stylists, journalists, designers. Seeing how Carrie reacted to them reminded me of myself. I plan on majoring in Communications in order to be a PR Manager/Creative Director, preferably in the fashion industry and I just thought of how I'm going to react once I reach that point. Would it be too much to say that me and Carrie are really similar? I just loved everything about the show. The typical teenage problems that you see in other shows, the career driven female lead (Carrie chose Manhattan over the hot guy!), quirky supporting characters, and of course the clothing. "The Carrie Diaries" is the "write-about-my-life-while-imagining-my-future-in-New-York" show that I've been waiting for, and you can bet I'm going to be obsessing over this. 80's fashion, New York and writing? Yes, please.
